The scientific seminar titled “India-Pakistan Conflict” was held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, in the conference hall of the Academy of Ayatollah Mohseni. This seminar was also broadcast online simultaneously.

The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and continued with speeches from Ustad Mohammad Kosar Dowlatzai, Head of the India Desk at the First Political Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Abdul Qayoum Sajjadi, Head of Khatam -Al-Nabieen University (PBUH).

In his remarks, Ustad Dowlatzai expressed appreciation for the efforts of Khatam -Al-Nabieen University in organizing scientific and practical forums, particularly this seminar on the India-Pakistan conflict and its impact on Afghanistan’s foreign policy. He emphasized that, given Afghanistan’s geographical position, any escalation of conflict between the two nuclear-armed regional powers poses a direct and indirect threat to Afghanistan’s stability and the broader region. Such tensions, he added, could have serious negative consequences for Afghanistan’s security, economy, and regional relations. He also discussed the stance of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan regarding these tensions, calling on behalf of the Emirate for an end to hostilities between India and Pakistan.

Dr. Abdul Qayoum Sajjadi, who joined the seminar online, welcomed the presence of professors and students in this academic event. He elaborated on the negative impacts of India-Pakistan tensions on the region, particularly Afghanistan and its foreign policy. Using scientific and theoretical analysis, he cited the closure of the Wagah border crossing and its direct and adverse effects on Afghanistan’s trade sector, market, and economy as an example of such consequences.

In conclusion, Dr. Sajjadi recommended that Afghanistan should always pursue a policy of regional integration and friendly relations with its neighbors, guiding its foreign policy in this direction.

It is worth mentioning that with the initiative of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Khatam -Al-Nabieen University (PBUH) – Ghazni Branch, and in collaboration with the Department of Scientific Research and the Department of Political Science and International Relations of Khatam -Al-Nabieen University (PBUH) – Kabul, the participation of faculty members from the Ghazni branch in this academic seminar was facilitated, and they joined the seminar online.
