Identifying and introducing distinguished and outstanding students, as well as offering both moral and material appreciation for their tireless and perfection-seeking efforts, has always been one of the fundamental and consistent policies of Khatam Al-Nabieen University, Ghazni Branch. This policy aims to enhance student motivation and to nurture capable human resources for the country. Accordingly, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, a ceremony was held in the Abu Rayhan Hall to honor the top students of the academic year 2024 and to recognize the highest-ranking students of the Spring and Fall Kankor Examinations of 2025.
This event was organized through the efforts of the Department of Culture, Invitation, and Islamic Guidance, in collaboration with the Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs. The ceremony was attended by the University Chancellor, vice-chancellors, deans of faculties, professors, and staff of Khatam Al-Nabieen University, Ghazni Branch, along with the outstanding students, their honorable families, and other students of the university. The program commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Safiullah Saeed, one of the students, and continued with a speech delivered by the respected Chancellor, Professor Habibi.
At the outset of his remarks, Professor Habibi expressed his gratitude for the presence of the vice-chancellors, deans, faculty members, heads of various departments, top students, and esteemed guests. He described the outstanding students as the future builders of the nation and as a source of encouragement and motivation for newly enrolled students. He then elaborated on the vital role of knowledge in society, considering it a source of power in the modern world. He emphasized that a strong society and nation are those that possess high levels of awareness and knowledge. Referring to Islamic teachings, he highlighted the elevated status of scholars and scientists, citing the Qur’anic verse: “Allah will raise those of you who have believed and those who were given knowledge, by degrees.” He stressed that knowledge and expertise are only beneficial when accompanied by commitment and piety. Addressing Afghanistan’s current backwardness, he identified its root cause as either experts without commitment or committed individuals without expertise. He further explained that the motto of “Commitment and Expertise” at Khatam Al-Nabieen University is derived from this Qur’anic verse and this very belief.
In another part of his speech, Professor Habibi attributed the academic success of outstanding students to their purposeful vision, discipline, and high aspirations. He advised all students to observe the following principles for sustained academic excellence:
- Proper planning
- Strong intrinsic motivation and passion
- Regular consultation with professors and benefiting from their experiences
- Reliance on Almighty God
- Respect and kindness toward parents
- Summarization of lessons and study materials
- Regular attendance in classes and active participation in discussions with classmates
- Prioritization of subjects
- Regular physical exercise
Following the Chancellor’s address, the official recognition segment of the program began. During this session, the Chancellor, vice-chancellors, and esteemed professors of Khatam Al-Nabieen University, Ghazni Branch, honored the top university students of the academic year 2024, the highest achievers of the Spring and Fall Kankor Examinations of 2025, as well as those whose academic average exceeded 95%, by awarding them certificates of appreciation and tuition discounts.
It is worth noting that the master of ceremonies for this program was Mr. Khodadad Mohammadi, one of the students of the university.
