The 10th-semester students of the Faculty of Curative Medicine at Khatam -Al-Nabieen University (PBUH), Ghazni Branch, held a Farewell and Graduation Ceremony (Goodbye Party) marking the completion of their academic program, with the presence of the esteemed University Chancellor, Dr. Habibi; the respected Vice-Chancellors; the Dean of the Faculty of Curative Medicine, Dr. Mahdizadeh; faculty members; several family members; and friends of the graduating students.
This event took place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in the Abu Rayhan Hall. In his opening remarks, the University Chancellor, Dr. Habibi, welcomed the participants, congratulated the graduates, their professors, and their families on the successful completion of an academic stage and the enhancement of medical knowledge. He described Afghanistan as an underdeveloped country, attributing the primary reason to the lack of a well-developed human capital. He cited examples from Southeast Asian nations that had similar conditions until the 1960s but have since risen to global prominence through the strength of specialized human resources. Highlighting the soft nature of power in today’s world, he referred to the university’s motto — Commitment and Expertise — and emphasized that the students are the carriers of this message. He expressed hope that this motto would be tangibly reflected in society through the graduates’ contributions.
The second speaker, Dr. Mahdizadeh, Dean of the Faculty of Curative Medicine, congratulated the students and their families on the completion of the theoretical stage of their education, wishing them success and health. He acknowledged the challenges of studying medicine and outlined five key steps to achieving success: (1) goal-setting, (2) self-confidence and motivation, (3) perseverance and continuous effort, (4) time management, and (5) discipline. Addressing the graduates in their white coats, he called them the “hope of society.” Dr. Mahdizadeh further noted that the faculty’s educational and training policies prioritize producing physicians who are both skilled and committed. To achieve this, they have employed the best professors in the country and created optimal learning conditions. As a result, the faculty ranked third nationwide and first among private universities in the 2023 Exit Exam, with the second-highest scorer in the exam being one of their graduates — an accomplishment attributed to sound policies and the dedicated efforts of the professors.
The third speaker, Dr. Noor Agha Hashimi, a faculty member of the Faculty of Curative Medicine, congratulated the graduates and their families, encouraging the students to seize global opportunities in the field of medicine and to participate in international competitions. He urged them not to prioritize material gains over academic advancement, but to work diligently to improve their knowledge.
Representing the graduates, Mr. Haroon Noori served as the fourth speaker, expressing gratitude to the university leadership, the faculty administration, and professors. He stressed the importance of commitment and expertise for both students and physicians, calling neglect of these values a betrayal of the efforts of professors and hardworking families.
The final speaker, Dr. Noorullah Zamaryani, a faculty member at Muslim University, expressed his appreciation to the leadership of Khatam Al-Nabieen University, Ghazni Branch, stating that the university has kept the flame of knowledge alive in the city of Ghazni. Quoting the Qur’anic verse “And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for” (Surah An-Najm, Verse 39), he urged students to strive harder in their pursuits.
The closing segment of the ceremony featured the presentation of congratulatory plaques to the graduates by the University President, Vice-Presidents, the Dean, faculty members, and honored guests.
It is worth noting that the event commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Baqiatullah Bayat, one of the graduating students, and was hosted by Mr. Bismillah Fetrat.
